Georgemma hunt
After stripping back her style to black ink drawings at architecture school, Georgemma rediscovered her love for colour in late 2018, when painting murals with Arts Bridging The Gap, a non-profit based in Los Angeles. Georgemma finds intense joy in painting and uses it as a means to relax alongside her full time architecture job in Liverpool. She continues to work with acrylic on unstretched canvas to visualise stories commissioned by friends and family, as well as capturing special memories from her own travels. Her colour palettes and forms take inspiration from artists such as Gauguin, Matisse and Hockney, while her subject matter attempts to convey her attitudes toward modern life and the beauty of relationships between people and nature.
You can discover her large scale, colourful murals on buildings in LA, Mexico and Puerto Rico, and she will be selling a series of small ‘afterthoughts’ that capture the essence of painting these in-situ pieces at the upcoming YAP exhibition in Buriton this October.
